Injector failure
What Happens When a Fuel Injector Fails?
Injector bad will lead to the engine cylinder carbon accumulation more serious, cylinder barrel, piston ring accelerated wear, idle power instability, fuel consumption rise, acceleration powerless, starting difficulties, emissions exceed the standard and other conditions.
Serious injector failure can completely block the injector and damage the engine.
EFI engine component
Why the Injector Affects Engine Performance
As one of the key components of the EFI engine injector, it determines the performance of the engine. The injector itself is a solenoid valve, and the principle is very simple.
When the solenoid coil is energized, it generates suction, the needle valve is sucked up, and the spray hole opens. The fuel is sprayed out at high speed through the ring gap between the shaft needle and the spray hole at the head of the needle valve, forming a mist that is conducive to full combustion.
Fuel system buildup
Why Deposits Form in the Fuel System
After the car has been driven for a period of time, certain deposits will be formed in the fuel system. The formation of deposits is directly related to the car’s fuel.
Firstly, gasoline itself contains gum and impurities, or dust and impurities brought in during the storage and transportation process. These accumulate over time in the car’s fuel tank, fuel pipe, and other parts, forming deposits similar to sludge.
Secondly, unstable components in gasoline can react at a certain temperature and form gum and resin-like viscous substances. These sticky substances in the injector nozzle, intake valve, and other parts will become hard carbon when burning.
Regular cleaning
How Often Should Injectors Be Cleaned?
Therefore, it is necessary to clean the injector nozzles regularly. Generally speaking, if the car is in good condition and the oil quality is good, it can be done every 40,000-60,000 km.
Even if the injectors are slightly clogged, there is no need to be too nervous because impurities can be dissolved away by spraying away when accelerating in high gear. This is why it is recommended that car owners should run a highway frequently when driving daily in order to reduce the possibility of carbon deposits.
