Key Features

HTS518 brings together the core functions expected from professional walnut blasting equipment: intake-port adapter coverage, simultaneous spraying and recovery, dust-filter media management, intake carbon removal, workshop mobility, 1400W rated power for vacuum recovery, and multiple operating modes.

23 Intake Adapters — Broader Intake-Port Coverage

The 23-adapter set supports multiple intake-port shapes for broader vehicle compatibility. Match the adapter to the specific engine and intake-port shape before cleaning.

Spray And Vacuum Recovery Together

The integrated design sprays walnut abrasive and recovers it by vacuum at the same time, helping reduce scattered media during cleaning.

Built-In Dust Filter for Recovered Media and Carbon Residue

The built-in dust filter helps manage collected walnut abrasive and carbon residue during recovery. Reuse recovered abrasive only when the service procedure for the specific vehicle permits it and the media remains suitable for reuse.

Deep Intake Carbon Removal

Helps remove sticky carbon deposits from the intake manifold area and the backs of the intake valves, leaving the cleaned surfaces visibly cleaner. Results vary with the vehicle condition, diagnosis, and the service performed.

Workshop-Friendly Body

A rear storage box, three-section telescoping handle, and 360° swivel casters help organize adapters and move the unit around the service area.

1400W Rated Power For Vacuum Recovery

The machine is rated at 1400W and supports vacuum recovery, while the external air compressor delivers the blasting force for walnut-shell cleaning.

High/Low Mode and Low-Speed Mode

HTS518 includes High/Low Mode and Low-Speed Mode.

Walnut Media Recovery & Reuse

The recovery and filtration system helps separate collected walnut-shell abrasive from carbon residue so suitable media can be reused. Under normal conditions, walnut-shell abrasive can be reused 5–10 times. Keep the media dry and replace it if it becomes contaminated, clumped, or cleaning performance drops.

3-Year Main Unit Warranty

Main unit: 3-year warranty. Standard accessories: 1-year warranty. Warranty Policy.

From Setup to Final Vehicle Check

Step-by-Step Workflow

HTS518 uses a closed-loop walnut shell blasting process: abrasive impact loosens carbon deposits while vacuum recovery collects media and residue. Before You Start

Safety & Compatibility

Before operating HTS518, check the air source, walnut abrasive, cleaning target, intake-valve position, adapter seal, required personal protective equipment (PPE), and final residual-media inspection steps. Always follow the service procedure for the specific vehicle when it differs from general product guidance.

External Air Compressor Required

HTS518 needs an external high-pressure air compressor for blasting. The air compressor is not included in the package.

Use Dry Filtered Air

Use an air compressor with stable pressure and dry, filtered air. Moisture may cause walnut-shell media to clump and reduce feed consistency.

Air Pressure Guidance

Use an external compressor with air pressure up to 0.7 MPa; 6 bar or more is generally recommended for operation. Also make sure the compressor provides sufficient continuous airflow and that the air tank, hose, quick-connect fittings, and pressure settings are suitable for the vehicle and workshop setup.

Compatible Walnut Abrasive

Use compatible 0.6–1.2 mm walnut-shell abrasive for HTS518. Add about 2–4 kg of compatible walnut abrasive. Walnut abrasive is not included.

Intake System Cleaning Scope

HTS518 is designed for carbon cleaning in the engine intake pipe and on the backs of the intake valves. It is not designed for fuel injectors, cylinders, or combustion-chamber cleaning.

Adapter Fit and Sealing

The supplied 23-adapter set covers multiple intake-port shapes, but the adapter still needs to match the specific engine and port geometry. Before blasting, confirm that the selected adapter matches the engine port geometry, seals correctly, and does not interfere with surrounding components.

Valve Position And Port Isolation

Start blasting only after confirming that the target intake valve is fully closed. Clean one intake port at a time and isolate the other openings according to the service procedure for the specific vehicle.

Residual Media Inspection

Before starting the engine, vacuum out the remaining abrasive and inspect the cleaned area to make sure no visible media remains. Do not rely on residual media simply burning away.

Protective Equipment and Walnut-Media Safety

Use suitable eye and respiratory protection, good ventilation, and the walnut-media supplier Safety Data Sheet (SDS). Walnut-shell media can create dust and may present allergen concerns.

Walnut Abrasive Reuse

The machine can collect used abrasive; reuse it only when the service procedure for the specific vehicle permits it and the recovered media remains suitable for reuse.

Product, Setup & Service Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers about walnut abrasive, carbon buildup, cleaning scope, air-compressor setup, abrasive reuse, model selection, package contents, and support.

How Does HTS518 Clean Carbon From Intake Valves?

HTS518 uses walnut blasting on the backs of intake valves and intake-port surfaces to loosen hard carbon deposits, while vacuum recovery collects spent media and carbon residue. Cleaning should follow the service procedure for the specific vehicle.

What Is Walnut Sand?

Walnut abrasive, often called walnut sand, is made from crushed walnut shells screened and classified by size. For HTS518, use compatible 0.6–1.2 mm walnut abrasive. Walnut-shell media can create dust and may present allergen concerns. Follow the media Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

What Walnut Abrasive Size Should I Use?

Use 0.6–1.2 mm walnut-shell abrasive for HTS518 and add about 2–4 kg. Keep the media dry and free of clumps.

Is Walnut Abrasive Included In The Package?

No. Walnut abrasive is not included; prepare compatible 0.6–1.2 mm media separately before using HTS518.

What Air Compressor Does HTS518 Need?

HTS518 requires an external high-pressure air compressor, which is not included. Use an external compressor with air pressure up to 0.7 MPa; 6 bar or more is generally recommended for operation. Use stable, dry, filtered air with sufficient continuous airflow, and make sure the hose, quick-connect fittings, and pressure settings suit the workshop setup.

Can HTS518 Clean Injectors, Throttle Valves, Cylinders, Or Combustion Chambers?

No. HTS518 is designed to clean the intake pipe and the backs of the intake valves, not injectors, throttle valves, cylinders, or combustion chambers. Use a dedicated injector-cleaning tool for injectors.

Can HTS518 Remove Carbon Buildup on Intake Valves?

HTS518 is designed to remove carbon buildup from the backs of intake valves and intake-port surfaces when inspection confirms deposits and the service procedure for the specific vehicle supports walnut blasting. Match the adapter and cleaning procedure to the specific engine before service.

When Should Intake Carbon Deposits Be Cleaned?

Clean intake-valve and intake-port deposits when inspection or diagnosis shows significant buildup and the vehicle service procedure supports mechanical cleaning. Do not use one fixed mileage interval for all vehicles, and do not expect a guaranteed improvement in power, fuel economy, or drivability.

How Long Does Cleaning Take?

The blasting step takes approximately 1–3 minutes per intake port, depending on the amount of carbon buildup. Total service time also includes access/disassembly, valve-position confirmation, adapter setup, cleanup, residual-media inspection, reassembly, final leak checks, diagnostic scanning, and a functional vehicle check.
