Product Overview

The AUTOOL HTS558 walnut blaster is a 1200W walnut sand de-carbon cleaner designed for intake pipe, intake manifold, and intake valve backside carbon deposit cleaning. It uses an external air compressor to drive walnut shell abrasive for physical blasting, while the built-in vacuum recovery and dust filter help separate carbon residue from reusable walnut media.

Before You Order And Use

HTS558 needs walnut shell abrasive, an external air compressor, and correct intake valve preparation. Review the media size, compressor requirement, safety gear, and cleaning range before use.

External Air Compressor Required

The package does not include a high-pressure air pump or air compressor. Use an external compressor with sufficient pressure, generally 6bar or above. The original requirement also mentions up to about 0.7MPa.

Walnut Sand Not Included

Walnut shell abrasive is not included in the package. Purchase suitable walnut media separately before cleaning.

Use 0.6-1.2mm Media

Use walnut shell abrasive between 0.6-1.2mm for HTS558. Under normal conditions, the media can usually be reused 5-10 times.

Dry Air Is Recommended

Use an air compressor equipped with a dryer filter when possible. Moisture can make walnut shell media clump and reduce blasting performance.

Close Intake Valve First

Turn off the engine and rotate the crankshaft to close the intake valve before blasting. Clean one intake pipe or intake port at a time.

Wear Safety Protection

Wear safety goggles and respiratory protection during operation to reduce risk from debris, dust, and fine walnut shell particles.

Application Limits

  • HTS558 is designed for engine intake pipe, intake manifold, and intake valve backside carbon cleaning.
  • It is not intended for injector, throttle valve, or cylinder carbon cleaning. For injector cleaning tools, use the AUTOOL injector cleaner category.
  • High-precision engine intake systems can be sensitive to foreign matter. Prepare the intake correctly before cleaning.
  • Small residual walnut powder in the intake pipe will burn to ash at high temperature after the engine starts, but correct recovery and inspection are still recommended.
  • Chemical cleaners may corrode pipes or shorten engine service life; walnut shell abrasive provides a physical cleaning method when used correctly.

How It Works

How It Works

Walnut blasting is a physical carbon cleaning method. Crushed walnut shells hit carbon deposits repeatedly, while the recovery system collects used abrasive and debris through a closed-loop process.

1. Add Walnut Media

Open the machine cover and add 2-4kg walnut powder. Press the dust guard onto the walnut powder and close the cover securely.

2. Blast With Air

The external air compressor drives walnut shell abrasive through the spray gun at high speed for carbon deposit impact cleaning.

3. Remove Deposits

Walnut powder hardness is lower than metal but higher than carbon deposits, helping clean intake carbon without damaging the metal surface when used correctly.

4. Recover And Separate

The vacuum recovery system collects walnut media and carbon residue. The filter helps separate deposits from reusable walnut shell abrasive.

How To Use

How To Use

Use HTS558 only after the engine is turned off, the intake valve is closed, walnut media has been added, and the external air compressor is securely connected.

Step 1: Add Walnut Powder

Open the HTS558 cover, pour in 2-4kg walnut powder, press the dust guard onto the walnut powder, and close the cover securely.

Step 2: Assemble Spray And Recovery Hose

Join the walnut blaster spray gun muzzle with the recovery hose. The recovery hose has a hole for the spray gun muzzle connection.

Step 3: Prepare The Engine

Remove the intake manifold, insert the spray gun into the intake, and rotate the crankshaft to close the intake valve before blasting.

Step 4: Connect Air And Power

Connect the external high-pressure air compressor to the HTS558, connect AC power, and confirm all connections are secure before operation.

Step 5: Clean And Inspect

Start cleaning for about 1-3 minutes depending on carbon deposit condition, then stop the machine and check the cleaning result.

Use Notes

  • Clean one intake pipe or intake port at a time. A 6-cylinder engine should be cleaned 6 times, port by port.
  • Use 0.6-1.2mm walnut shell abrasive. Under normal conditions, the abrasive can usually be reused 5-10 times.
  • Wear safety goggles and respiratory protection during operation.
  • Use dry compressed air to prevent moisture buildup and media clumping.
  • Cleaning time depends on carbon deposit condition. Inspect the result before moving to the next intake port.
