Product Overview
The AUTOOL AS506 is a handheld automotive brake fluid tester designed to help judge whether brake fluid should be replaced by checking boiling point performance. It supports DOT 3, DOT 4, DOT4+, DOT4ESP, DOT 5, DOT 5.1, DOT5.1ESP, ENV4, and ENV6 brake fluids, provides Normal Mode and Brand Mode, and delivers a test result in about 16 seconds.
Before You Order And Use
AS506 heats brake fluid during the boiling point test. Review the sample volume, 12V power rule, hot-fluid warning, and post-test handling instructions before use.
Use 12V Battery Power
Clamp the tester to a 12V vehicle battery. The working voltage is 12V, with a minimum of 10V. Do not reverse the positive and negative clamps or short-circuit with the vehicle.
Use Enough Brake Fluid
Fill the beaker with more than 40ml and not more than 50ml of brake fluid. Do not test without enough fluid, because empty boiling may damage the test stick.
Wear Eye Protection
Wear goggles and avoid splashing brake fluid into your eyes. Follow the brake fluid manufacturer’s safety data sheet and the vehicle service manual.
Avoid Burns After Testing
The test stick and fluid become hot after the boiling point test. Do not touch them directly after testing.
Do Not Reuse Tested Fluid
Do not pour tested brake fluid back into the reservoir. The fluid structure has been changed by boiling, and reuse may affect driving safety.
Brake Fluid Only
AS506 is designed for brake fluid detection. Do not use it for other liquids or non-automotive purposes.
Safety Reminder
- Use by professional technicians or trained service personnel only.
- Keep the tester away from children and untrained users.
- If the same brake fluid sample is tested repeatedly, different results may appear because the sample has already been boiled and changed.
- After testing, remove the unit vertically to avoid spilling brake fluid.

AS506 tests the boiling point performance of automotive brake fluid. The result helps users judge whether brake fluid should be replaced. It is positioned as a brake fluid boiling point tester rather than a simple water-content tester.
AS506 supports DOT3, DOT4, DOT4+, DOT4ESP, DOT5, DOT5.1, DOT5.1ESP, ENV4, and ENV6 brake fluid types.
Normal Mode lets you select the brake fluid type directly. Brand Mode lets you select from built-in brand references including ATE, TRW, BOSCH, MOBIL, TOTAL, FUCHS, MOTUL, DELPHI, KUNLUN, FERODO, BREMBO, TEXTAR, MONARCH, and CHANGCHENG, then choose the matching brake fluid type.
Use the injection sampler to fill the beaker with brake fluid above the 40ml scale and not more than 50ml. Do not test with insufficient liquid, because empty boiling may damage the test stick.
Use 12V vehicle battery power. The working voltage is 12V and the minimum voltage is 10V. Connect the red clamp to battery positive and the black clamp to battery negative. Do not describe the unit as a 24V tester unless an updated official manual confirms that specification.
After selecting the correct mode and brake fluid type, press and hold the S button for about 16 seconds. Wait for the progress bar to complete, then read the test result on the OLED screen.
No. Do not pour the tested brake fluid back into the brake fluid reservoir. The sample has been boiled and its structure has changed, which may affect driving safety.
After testing, empty the brake fluid and fill about 50ml of water to clean residual brake fluid from the test stick. If the tester will not be used for a long time, use water to dilute and remove residual brake fluid, then let the heating stick dry at room temperature.
Fill the beaker with water and test whether the boiling point reads around 100°C / 212°F ±3%. This is only a quick initial diagnosis. If stricter standards are required, the unit must be returned to the factory for retesting and calibration.
AS501 and AS502 focus on brake fluid water content. AS503 tests engine oil quality by transmittance. AS505 tests transmission fluid by transmittance. AS506 tests brake fluid boiling point using flash point heating technology. AS507 tests power steering fluid by transmittance.
