The Autool SDT208 GREAT dual purpose smoke machine for the professional or DIY auto mechanic, as it has some distinct features that can be selected by a simple pressing of the appropriate buttons which sets it apart from many other smoke machines.
1. It has its own, built in air compressor that makes it very portable so that you do not need to use shop air,
2. It has a pressure setting that allows a person to perform smoke tests for finding vacuum leaks in vehicle EVAP systems that require low pressure settings in the 1-2 psi range.
3. It can also be used to perform smoke tests for finding leaks in vacuum or pressure circuits that can be tested at higher pressures in the 25 psi range.
4. A person can select to pressure test using regular air pressure with no smoke or the smoke feature can be selected to pressure test with smoke.
i started out with an AUTOOL SDT206 and decided to upgrade to this SDT208 because with the SDT206 i had problems trying to accurately regulate the lower pressures required for smoke testing vehicle EVAP vacuum circuits.
The SDT208 is a GREAT smoke machine and as of this time I am very happy with its performance.
The only suggestion i would offer is that AUTOOL provide information on a smoke machine oil that does NOT STINK like i have experienced with using baby oil or mineral oil.

I really like this unit over my old smoke machine. Major concern is the 12 volt power cord has a 120 Volt type plug receptacle where one may accidently use a 120 volt power cord not remembering this is 12 volt not 120 volt. Could be a serious problem.
