Before You Order And Use
Before starting a leak test, confirm the DC12V power requirement, testing oil rule, operating time limit, overheat protection, and hot-surface warning.
DC12V Battery Required
The SDT106 smoke detector must be connected to a DC12V battery before operation. Do not use an incompatible power source.
Testing Oil Not Included
Testing oil is not included due to logistics restrictions. Buy liquid paraffin or baby oil locally for use as the testing liquid.
Add 10-15ml Only
For first use, fill 10-15ml testing oil. Do not exceed this range, because overfilling leaves less space for smoke generation.
Refill Only When Smoke Is Thin
Only add fresh oil when the smoke becomes thin. Limit each fill to no more than 15ml.
Drain Old Oil First
Before filling fresh oil, pour out the remaining oil in the detector and replace detector oil regularly.
8-Minute Use Limit
Do not run the detector continuously for more than 8 minutes. Let the unit rest between test cycles.
Safety Reminder
- During leak detection, keep smoke away from smoke-sensitive parts.
- The round metal section of the detector may become hot during operation. Avoid direct contact to prevent burns.
- If the internal temperature exceeds 75°C, the intelligent protection device shuts off the power automatically. Wait until the unit cools before operating it again.
- The unit can work in low-temperature environments down to -20°C under proper conditions.
- Do not refill oil while the detector is running.

How To Use
How To Use
Use SDT106 with a DC12V battery and 10-15ml liquid paraffin or baby oil. After the detector starts producing smoke, allow the pipe to fill, then check the leak points visually.
Add Test Oil
For first use, fill 10-15ml baby oil or liquid paraffin into the detector. Do not overfill.
Connect The Test Pipe
Open the engine cover, hang the smoke test machine on the cover if needed, then disconnect the pipe that needs to be connected to the detector.
Connect DC12V Power
Connect the smoke test machine to a DC12V battery, then turn on the power switch so the detector starts working.
Locate The Leak
After smoke fills the pipe, check the leak points visually. Use a headlamp if extra visibility is needed.
