The AUTOOL SDT206 smoke machine for vacuum leaks is a mid-to-high-end automotive smoke leak detector in the SDT series. It uses dual built-in air pumps, independent air and smoke modes, a pressure gauge, a flow meter, and a flow control valve to help technicians find low-pressure leaks in EVAP, intake, exhaust, crankcase, fuel tank, turbo, pipe fitting, and vehicle sealing systems.

Before You Order And Use

Review the 12V power requirement, testing oil rule, oil refill limit, operating time limit, overheat protection, and hot-surface warning before using the SDT206 automotive smoke leak detector.

12V Battery Required

The SDT206 smoke test machine must be connected to a DC 12V battery to operate. Do not connect it to an unsupported power source.

Testing Oil Not Included

Due to logistics restrictions, testing oil is not included in the package. Buy liquid paraffin or baby oil locally for use as the testing fluid.

Add 10-15ml Only

Fill 10-15ml testing oil before use. Do not overfill, because too much oil leaves no space for smoke generation and may affect output.

Refill When Smoke Gets Thin

Only refill when the smoke becomes thin. Do not add more than 15ml at a time, and always drain remaining test oil before adding fresh oil.

8-Minute Use Limit

Do not operate the smoke leak detector continuously for more than 8 minutes. Allow it to rest between uses to protect the machine.

75°C Protection

The intelligent protection system automatically shuts off power if internal temperature exceeds 75°C. Wait for the unit to cool before restarting.

Safety Reminder

  • The metal round section of the smoke tester can become hot during operation. Avoid direct contact to prevent burns.
  • Do not refill testing oil while the smoke tester is running.
  • If the machine stops due to temperature protection, allow it to cool down before restarting.
  • The SDT206 is intended for low-pressure automotive leak checks. It is not a direct high-pressure A/C system pressure tester.

The SDT206 has two built-in air pumps, so it does not require an external air source for normal smoke leak detection setup.

Fast Smoke Output

The smoke generator starts producing smoke quickly, and the tested pipe can be filled with smoke in about 30 seconds depending on system volume.

External Pressure Gauge

Use the pressure gauge to observe pipeline pressure. If pressure keeps dropping, the pipeline may have a leak that requires further inspection.

Flow Meter And Flow Control

The air flowmeter and flow control valve help you observe and adjust air flow volume, making testing safer for different automotive pipes.

Oil Level And Oil Outlet

The oil level gauge helps you observe the current oil volume, while the oil outlet allows recovery of surplus test oil when needed.

Overheat And Anti-Frost Protection

The device turns off when temperature exceeds 75°C and can work normally at low temperature down to -20°C under proper conditions.

How To Use

How To Use

Use SDT206 with a DC 12V battery and 10-15ml liquid paraffin or baby oil. The unit starts producing smoke quickly, and the tested pipe can be filled with smoke in about 30 seconds depending on system volume.

Add Test Oil

Fill 10-15ml baby oil or liquid paraffin into the detector before use. Do not add more than 15ml at one time.

Connect The Test Pipe

Open the engine cover, hang the detector if needed, disconnect the pipe that needs testing, and connect it to the smoke output hose.

Connect 12V Power

Connect the detector to a DC 12V battery, then turn on the power switch so the detector starts working.

Use Air Or Smoke Mode

Use Air Mode for pressure and flow observation when appropriate, then use Smoke Mode to fill the pipe and visually locate the leak point.

Locate Leaks

Check where smoke escapes from the pipe or sealed area. Use a headlamp if necessary to see small leak points more clearly.

Use Notes

  • Testing oil is not included due to logistics restrictions.
  • Use liquid paraffin or baby oil as testing oil if professional smoke test oil is unavailable.
  • Only refill when smoke becomes thin, and drain remaining test oil before adding fresh test oil.
  • Do not operate continuously for more than 8 minutes.
  • Wait for the detector to cool down if overheat protection is triggered.
  • Do not use SDT206 for direct high-pressure A/C system pressure testing.
