I bought this to find a boost leak in my lines. I pulled off the air intake filter and stuck the bulb that came with this kit in the intake pipe and used that to push smoke into my turbo and through the inter-cooler into the intake manifold, I manually released the pressure to my blow-ff valve as it is vented-to-atmosphere type and the smoke did come out which confirms that this was able to give enough smoke to fill the entire boost/vacuum line system. I let it run for about 5-6 mins on high and it worked great. So if you are looking for a smoke machine this one is great.

Between SDT103 and SDT203, I chose SDT203. SDT203 is better, with a built-in air pump. Because SDT103 does not have a built-in air pump, I need an air compressor, but I don’t have an air compressor, so I chose SDT203

This little device is fantastic—small, practical, and high-quality. I’d had a problem with my EcoSport for a couple of years, and after using a scanner that led me to replace a bunch of sensors, this little machine diagnosed it in minutes.
1. It indicated a vacuum leak that I could never detect with the naked eye (I’d already tried using cigarette smoke).
2. An EGR valve that only malfunctioned at high speeds (not at idle), making it undetectable when the vehicle was in park. I highly recommend it.

Works really well. Unit uses fluid like baby oil to produce smoke. I’ve used it a few times already. Both to find leaks on the intake side and also the exhaust side.
For the exhaust side, I really like the inflatable airbag you pressurize. Stick it in the tail pipe, pump it up until it inflates to the size of the tailpipe and there is no more air gapes between them, then pump the exhaust full of smoke to find your exhaust leak.
Does what it’s supposed to do. Don’t know if it would last in a shop where it would get used constantly but great cost effective alternative for DIY’s.
