The AUTOOL HTS678 walnut sand blaster is a professional engine carbon deposition cleaning machine for intake pipes and the back side of intake valves. Before You Order And Use

Check the air compressor, walnut shell abrasive, package option, cleaning range, and safety requirements before using the HTS678 walnut blasting machine.

External Air Compressor Required

The HTS678 requires an external air compressor. The high-pressure air pump / air compressor is not included in the standard machine package.

0.7MPa / 6bar Or Higher

Use an air compressor that can provide up to 0.7MPa, with 6bar or more air pressure recommended for stable blasting performance.

Use A Dryer Filter

A compressor with a dryer filter is recommended to reduce moisture buildup, because moisture can cause walnut shell media to clump and weaken blasting performance.

Walnut Sand Package May Vary

Some package images show walnut media bags, while the original notes state walnut sand may not be included. Check the selected SKU or package option before ordering.

Intake Cleaning Only

HTS678 is mainly for engine intake pipe and intake valve back side cleaning. It is not intended for injector, throttle valve, cylinder, or combustion chamber cleaning.

Wear Eye Protection

Wear safety goggles during operation to protect your eyes from abrasive particles, dust, and accidental spray-back.

Before You Start

  • Use walnut shell abrasive sized 0.6-1.2mm for HTS678.
  • Recommended walnut sand filling amount is generally 3-5kg.
  • Walnut shell abrasive can normally be reused 5-10 times under suitable conditions.
  • Close the intake valve before blasting and clean one intake port at a time.
  • A 6-cylinder engine should be cleaned one cylinder intake port at a time, repeated six times as needed.
  • Only one operating mode switch should be active at a time; otherwise, air switch protection may engage.
  • High-precision intake systems can be sensitive to foreign matter, so confirm the correct adapter and cleaning method before operation.
  • Residual walnut powder in the intake pipe will usually burn to ash after the engine starts, but proper recovery and cleaning procedure should still be followed.

How It Works

HTS678 uses walnut shell abrasive as a natural polishing medium. Its hardness is lower than metal but higher than carbon deposits, helping remove carbon buildup from intake areas when used correctly.

Close The Intake Valve

Before blasting, close the target intake valve so the walnut media works on the selected intake port area instead of entering the combustion chamber.

Blast With Walnut Media

Compressed air drives walnut shell abrasive through the blasting gun so repeated impacts break down hard carbon buildup on the intake wall and valve back side.

Recover At The Same Time

The machine sprays and recovers walnut sand grit simultaneously through a closed-loop recovery path, reducing manual cleanup and media loss.

Filter And Reuse

The filter helps separate reusable walnut sand from removed carbon deposits, supporting cleaner operation and more efficient media use.

How To Use

How To Use

Set up the recovery hose, select the correct intake adapter, add walnut shell abrasive, connect an external compressed air source, and clean one intake port at a time.

Inspect And Prepare

Open the package, inspect all parts for damage, raise the rod, unlock the metal latches, swing out the accessory box, and remove the required accessories.

Connect Recovery Hose

Connect the recovery particle hose with the tendon sheath to the main unit, clamp it securely, and confirm it is locked in place.

Choose The Adapter

Select the suitable metal connector or yellow silicone connector for the engine air intake. Use the large bend with the metal adapter and the small bend with the yellow silicone adapter.

Check The Filter

Open the top cover, rotate the filter cartridge handle counterclockwise, remove the cartridge, and confirm that the bottom filter screen is flat and not rolled over.

Add Walnut Sand

Add walnut shell abrasive through the filler opening. The recommended amount is generally 3-5kg, using 0.6-1.2mm walnut shell abrasive for HTS678.

Connect Air And Start

Reinstall the filter cartridge, close the top cover, move the machine to the work area, connect the external air compressor, and start Standard Mode or Expert Mode.

Blast And Adjust

Insert the sandblasting gun into the injection port on the black silicone bend, pull the gun switch, and adjust the throttle valve according to the workpiece and cleaning condition.

Operation Notes

  • Wear safety goggles before starting the cleaning procedure.
  • Use a compressor with dry, stable air; moisture can cause walnut media to clump.
  • Keep only one mode switch active at a time, or air switch protection may engage.
  • Adjust the throttle valve gradually based on the intake port condition and blasting effect.
  • Clean one intake port at a time. Repeat the process for each cylinder as needed.
  • For injector, throttle valve, cylinder, or combustion chamber cleaning, choose the correct dedicated cleaning equipment instead of using HTS678 outside its intended range.

    After using the AUTOOL HTS678, I’ve been very satisfied. It uses harmless walnut shells as a cleaning medium, which cleans carbon deposits from the intake manifold and valves very thoroughly without scratching metal surfaces.

    The 1800W motor is powerful and provides stable suction. The adjustable air pressure knob allows for flexible adjustments based on the vehicle model and the level of carbon deposits, resulting in effective cleaning results.     The product design is sleek, the materials are top-notch, and the filter quality is excellent. I know this filter can be cleaned and reused, which is fantastic. Another major plus is its outstanding cleaning performance! I’ve attached a comparison photo of an engine we cleaned at our repair shop.
