Well made. Good price. Puts out a large amount of smoke. Better quality than the paint can types and is priced several hundred dollars less than the professional ones. Very easy to use and to test for leaks on your vehicle. I had never used one before but this made it child’s play to find subtle leaks in my intake system. I’m going to also test for interior wind noise by turning the heater fan on high and smoking along the outside door seals, etc. Plus, it’s a great company with excellent customer service. Pretty rare to find all of these qualities in one product these days. Highly recommend. The only drawback is the odor of the smoke. It stinks and it stays in your nostrils but that’s no fault of this product. It’s the nature of the oil used.

I wanted something more refined than the paint can types. Between the easily removable lid and power cables, this smoke tester feels high quality. Warms up fast and produces a good amount of smoke. I would definitely recommend it. The evap access port adapter is awesome and the valve remover they include actually has two sizes which is great.Only downside is the air hose adapter doesn’t fit my air hose. It looks like the other ones I have but for some reason wont snap on. No big deal, I had a spare one lying around.

Works great but not at first. A simple unclogging of the 1mmrestrictor rubber fixed the issue. The fix was mentioned in the troubleshooting section. Had to take apart clear the obstruction and put back together 10min fix now it works as it should. Other than this its a great value, a little quality control and it would have been 5 stars

Good “tool” to invest in for finding leaks in EVAP line. Assuming you find a leak, it’ll cost you about half of what it would cost to have dealership find/fix the leak.Everything worked fine upon receiving the item. I have only used it once. Instructions are clear for setting up the machine connecting the hoses.A continuous air supply is required for steady vapor flow. A large leak will be fairly easy to find because of continuous volume of smoke/vapor generated. A small leak will take extra time and effort before you are able to pinpoint it. The mineral oil lasted me the entire long troubleshooting cycle and have some left over.My vehicle does not have EVAP access port so I disconnected inlet/outlet tubing at the purge solenoid to send the smoke through – both towards the gas tank/gas cap side and towards the air intake manifold side. The connection fitting did not seal completely inside the tubing so I had a friend hold it tight in place.As it turned out for me, I did not find a leak. After clearing the codes (large and small leak), neither the engine check sign nor the gap cap sign came up. My guess is one of the two connection was loose at the purge solenoid.

I bought this, shipped from the US as I decided I needed a smoke machine, but as I would only use it twice a year, could not justify spending ¡ê800!I have not used it for diagnosis yet but have powered it up and it seems to work OK.For the money ( ¡ê140 delivered from the US after all charges ) it looks OK , probably better than the ¡ê50 items direct from China, how long it works and lasts for remains to be seen!As a basic machine it has no pressure adjustment, and needs to be turned off after 15 mins tostop it overheating (oil boiling?) I’ll probably fit a simple inline switch for this.So in a nutshell, looks OK, works OK, only 3 stars as not used for actual diagnosis yet and not sure how long it will last!

Knowing that one should not ever get any residual chemicals inside of a vehicle’s evaporative emissions system, I was very careful to not overfill the container or tip the container to ensure that sure none of the liquid oil that makes the smoke ended up going into the smoke machine discharge hose and into the car that I was smoke testing for an evap leak. Despite this, it is apparent that when the smoke cools or settles there is a lot of the residual oil coming out of the hose and into the car’s evap system, where it will very likely cause damage to the purge solenoid valve, vent solenoid valve, and evap canister. After I finished testing and unhooked the smoke discharge hose from the car, I hung the smoke canister up and approx. an ounce of liquid oil (the smoke chemical) dribbled out of the hose within an hour of unhooking it.The machine itself appears to be of decent quality and does make smoke, but because of the oily discharge that comes with the smoke production, I cannot recommend it.

I have a Toyota 4runner, 1994, its older but it still runs great.But it developed a vacuum leak, and I couldn’t find it, tried everything, starter fluid etc, it got bad, I hooked up the smoke machine within 5 mins found the leaks, in between the plenum and intake in very back of the motor.Happy to say I’m back on the road and its never ran better!

Smoke machine worked very well. Takes a few minutes to build smoke but continues to smoke once started. I was able to find an evap leak I’ve been chasing for years. The only thing I would change is making the hose easier to remove to the lid/cap can be set aside. Beats the $900+ price tag for brand name smoke machines.

This is a quality made product, it functions exactly as advertised. It produces the correct pressure to properly diagnose an evap system without doing damage to the electronic sensors and other system components. The included mineral oil has a distinct odor which makes detecting leaks easier. I use a laser pointer to better see the visible smoke in low light conditions. The unit produces good smoke and has good features to aid in diagnosis. The only small design change I would make is to mount the pressure regulator with a bracket and some type of permanent fasteners as opposed to the nylon wire zip ties. When first assembling the unit, I found it necessary to cut the zip ties in order to install the correct air line fitting. This was only caused by the supplied fitting being incompatible with my shop air system. Small issue easily corrected. A+ tool, I should have bought it years ago!!

I used the smoke machine recently with great results. I used it for my truck, my wife’s Honda and my son’s car. All three had leaks readily identified by the smoke machine. I fixed the leaks and the drive ability issue went away. I planned to add a. 1 to a. 5 LPM flow guage to enhance diagnostic capability. I had an opportunity to discuss the machine with the manufacture. I found his response timely and accurate. Overall, a quality machine with exceptional support.

Works great. Everyone that works on their own vehicles need one. Pays for itself in the first use. My mechanic charges $80 for a smoke test. Was pretty sure I had a leak in my intake manifold and this little unit confirmed it. Heck my neighbor asked me what I was doing, and he brought his car over once I told him I was smoke testing a leak. Found his problem as well. Only reason I didn¡¯t give it 5 stars is because I haven¡¯t used it more than once and haven¡¯t tested all the adapters for functionality. But overall I¡¯m really impressed.

I am a retired ASE Certified Master Technician.I still repair vehicles for myself and a few friends to keep busy.Living in the rust belt of Upstate NY, a smoke tester comes in handy.At my former place of employment, I used to use a Red line smoke testerthat cost many times more than your machine.I found your tester produces a smoke volume comparable to the Red Line unit at fraction the cost.I had it working in 5 minutes and found a rotted vapor line on my friend’s Pontiac Vibe.Moving on to diagnose a lean code, I sent smoke up the tailpipe and found a small exhaust leak in front of the air fuel ratio sensor.

Perfectly sized for emission related repairs. I did not have much success when checking for the leak in the exhaust manifold. After 45 minutes of piping smoke into the tailpipe, i had no visible smoke indication of the problem. I think much bigger smoke volume is needed for exhaust work especially on full size vehicles.

I seldom make reviews about a product but after discovering that the alternatives to solving a small vacuum leak on my Jaguar Xtype 2004, was an expensive visit to a mechanic and an overpriced market for smoke machine testers, I decided to give the Autoline pro a chance. Overall this smoke machine gets the job done. I would highly recommend this product for all the DIY guys out there, who are tired of being jacked by mechanics.

I gave this five stars because it probably would have cost me more to make it myself than buying it outright and it works really well. It made smoke quickly and I was able to diagnose a leak in no time. I’m a mobile technician and I plan to modify the unit and incorporate a shutoff valve, switch, portable air compressor, etc….but because it’s made with non-proprietary parts, modification will be a snap.

I have to say I am very happy that I did not try to make a smoker myself. After seeing the quality for what you get for your money it is well worth it. There are a lot of higher dollar machines out there. For what you get with this kit it is well worth the investment and you save yourself a lot of money not buying the more expensive smoker. I cannot get over the quality of the material that was used to build this. I know I could not have built myself one as nice as this. And let me also say this is a lot better then the paint can ones. The packaging was very professional. Every little part was placed in a thick plastic reusable bag. My neighbor who is a professional mechanic 30 + years came over to see what I was getting myself into now. He could not believe how nice the whole system was and the price. He was out there playing with it and afterwards he asked me to send him the link and that he is going to get one to keep in his toolbox at work. He was telling me that where he is that they have one of the high-dollar machines and about time you set it up you could have already used the stuff that I have and figured out what was wrong. And sometimes you have to wait your turn to use their machine which cost him money. I can assure you I have no association with this company and I know no one who works for them. This is just a good product. If I believe that I did not get what I was paying for or if it was cheaply made I would tell you that also. So that’s why I have no problem when a product is well made. A lot of people are quick to give a negative review. I am the type of person that will give positive or negative reviews.

Ok being honest about tester it worked perfect was able to see vacuum leaks hoses pcv I work in a lot of cars and I always used starting fluid it was hit and miss but this machine produced enough smoke I could see where they were coming from I even pulled gas cap and watched smoke come out filler next just to see if smoke was back there and it was awesome job well worth price great tool for me and my cars

Was trying to track down a very hard to find vacuum leak with a “boost leak detector”, and trying to find a small hole by escaping air sound only was impossible.Broke down and decided to order this tool based on reviews.Found my vacuum leak in about 30 SECONDS.Also smoked the air intake and found an post-MAF unmetered air leak (small), and did the exhaust to be sure about that. Found another small leak there and repaired.Literally EFFORTLESS, and takes minutes.

The Smoke Machine it self is a good working machine and did exactly what it was suppose to do.But the (STEM Remover Tool) would not fit properly. The end needed to take the valve stem out was not Machined/Cut properly. So I could not use that tool. I had to borrow one from a friend. It may have just been the (1) bad tool in the batch and I got it.

This machine is a must-have for finding vacuum leaks. I spent weeks trying to find leaks by listening and spraying various fluids etc and could not find all of the leaks. This machine found hard-to-find leaks that I would have never discovered within minutes. It does everything that the expensive machines do at a fraction of the price. I can’t speak for longevity or durability because just received the item, but it appears to be a solid, quality build. It is compact and can be used on basically any size vacuum hose or the larger air intake opening. You will need shop air for it to operate with standard industrial couplings. Any sized air compressor will work since it only requires around 5 psi input pressure. It has its own internal regulator so you don’t have to regulate it with your compressor, although I would assume you wouldn’t want to run too much pressure into it because maybe it would damage it over time. I set my compressor at its lowest setting which is around 5-10 psi. If you don’t have a compressor and don’t want to invest in one, this brand and other brands sell machines that cost a little more and generate their own air. Either way still much cheaper than the expensive machines.
