How To Choose

How To Choose

Choose your AUTOOL SVB automotive borescope based on connection method, steering angle, lens diameter, screen type, camera resolution, and whether dual-lens inspection or zoom is required.

Need A Phone-Connected Camera?

Choose SVB302 or SVB303. SVB302 supports 210° bidirectional probe rotation, while SVB303 supports 360° four-way probe rotation and is suitable for users who prefer phone or tablet inspection.

Need A Built-In Screen?

Choose SVB305, SVB308, SVB403, SVB405, or SVB408 if you want direct inspection without depending on a phone App or phone cable connection.

Need 360° Four-Way Articulation?

Choose SVB303, SVB308, SVB405, or SVB408 for four-way 360° rotation, which is useful for complex curved passages and multi-directional observation.

Need Dual Lens Inspection?

Choose SVB403. It includes a front lens and a side lens, making it useful for cylinder-wall, piston-top, and side-view inspection without frequently repositioning the probe.

Need The Thinnest Lens?

Choose SVB408. Its 3.9mm lens diameter is the thinnest among the compared models, making it better for especially narrow inspection spaces.

Need Higher Resolution Or Zoom?

Choose SVB405, SVB408, or SVB403. SVB405 has a 2MP / 1920×1080 camera, while SVB403 and SVB408 support 8× digital zoom for closer inspection.

Key Features

Key Features

The SVB series helps mechanics inspect narrow and hidden areas without unnecessary disassembly, with model-specific options for articulation, imaging, storage, waterproof probe protection, and screen or phone viewing.

Rotatable Lens

Selected models use joystick-style control with 210° or 360° rotating probes, allowing flexible access to narrow, curved, and hard-to-see spaces.

HD Imaging And LED Lighting

Selected models support 720P or 1080P imaging and LED illumination, providing clearer visibility in low-light engine, pipeline, or hidden structure inspections.

Photo And Video Recording

Supports one-click photo and video recording on selected models. Built-in storage card support helps users review inspection results and export work examples.

Screen / Phone Inspection Options

SVB302 and SVB303 are phone-connected models, while SVB305, SVB308, SVB403, SVB405, and SVB408 use built-in displays for direct inspection.

Detachable / Magnetic Design

Selected models such as SVB303 and SVB308 support magnetic or detachable design for easier storage, positioning, and portability during workshop use.

IP67 Probe And High-Temperature Alert

The probe side supports IP67 protection depending on the model, and selected models include high-temperature alarm or shutdown protection. The screen should still be protected from oil and liquid.

Compatibility And Fitment

Compatibility And Fitment

The AUTOOL automotive articulating borescope uses optical and electronic imaging technology. A miniature camera and LED light source at the probe tip illuminate the target area, capture images, and transmit signals to a display device for real-time inspection.

Miniature Camera And LED

The probe tip uses a miniature camera and LED light source to illuminate the target area and capture images inside narrow or hidden structures.

Signal Transmission

Image signals are transmitted through the probe and cable, or through the phone-connected system, to the display device for decoding and viewing.

Real-Time Inspection

The screen or phone displays the image in real time, supporting hidden-area inspection, engine wear detection, pipeline blockage checks, and wiring observation without unnecessary disassembly.

Applications

Applications

Use the SVB series to inspect hard-to-reach areas in engine, HVAC, exhaust, pipeline, and hidden wiring scenarios.

Engine Cylinder / Combustion Chamber

Inspect combustion chambers, cylinder walls, piston tops, spark plug holes, and signs of wear or carbon buildup.

Evaporator And HVAC Duct Area

Check automotive evaporators, HVAC ducts, and narrow internal spaces that are difficult to access directly.

Catalytic Sensor / Exhaust Area

Inspect catalytic sensor areas, exhaust pipe sections, and tight sensor interface areas for hidden issues.

Pipeline / Hidden Wiring

Use the flexible probe to observe pipeline blockage, hidden wiring, and internal structural conditions during non-destructive inspection.

Before You Order And Use

Before You Order And Use

Automotive borescope cameras are sensitive inspection tools. Confirm temperature, liquid exposure, hose replacement, and model compatibility before use.

Safety And Use Notes

  • Wait until the engine has completely cooled down before inserting the probe.
  • Avoid placing the hose or camera probe in environments above 75°C.
  • Engine temperature can reach 80°C to 100°C or higher after shutdown, which may damage the camera.
  • High-temperature alarm or shutdown is a protection feature, not permission to inspect hot engine components.
  • The flexible hose is removable and replaceable; unscrew the screw on the AUTOOL logo to replace it.
  • The probe may support IP67 protection depending on the model, but the display screen must not be exposed to liquid, motor oil, or cleaning fluid.
  • If liquid enters the screen, the display may be damaged and replacement may be required at the user’s expense.
  • If the camera is damaged by high temperature, replacement may require an additional paid accessory.
  • Confirm screen type, phone compatibility, steering angle, lens diameter, depth of field, storage, and temperature protection before choosing a model.
