Measure the boiling point of a prepared brake-fluid sample for comparison with the applicable service reference. Heated Sample Test with Fluid Modes
Dual Mode Selection
Use Normal Mode for general brake fluid type selection or Brand Mode when you want to reference one of the supported common brake fluid brands.
16-Second Fast Detection
Press and hold the S button for about 16 seconds. The tester displays live fluid temperature and completes the result after the progress bar finishes.
Boiling Point Measurement
AS506 quickly obtains the minimum boiling point of brake fluid and provides official dry and wet boiling point values for reference.
Wide Brake Fluid Coverage
Select only the DOT3, DOT4 or DOT5.1 operating mode specified for the current procedure.
Clear OLED Interface

Reference boiling points: DOT3 — dry 205°C / 401°F, wet 140°C / 284°F; DOT4 / DOT4+ — dry 230°C / 446°F, wet 155°C / 311°F; DOT5 — dry 260°C / 500°F, wet 180°C / 356°F; DOT5.1 — dry 270°C / 518°F, wet 190°C / 374°F. DOT5 is a reference value only; selectable operating modes are DOT3, DOT4 and DOT5.1.

Collect Brake Fluid
Use the injection sampler to suck up brake fluid and fill the beaker. Keep the sample above the 40ml scale and not more than 50ml.

Connect 12V Battery Power
Connect the red clamp to battery positive and the black clamp to battery negative. The tester powers on automatically after correct connection.

Select Mode And Fluid Type
Select Normal Mode or Brand Mode, then choose the brand and brake fluid type such as DOT3, DOT4 or DOT5.1.

Immerse The Test Stick
Put the test stick into the beaker and make sure the sampling hole is immersed in the brake fluid. Bleed air bubbles from the test head cavity before testing.

Press And Hold S For 16s
After entering the ready interface, press and hold the S button for about 16 seconds. Wait until the progress bar is complete to obtain the result.

Sample-Based Testing
Collect a brake fluid sample, connect the tester to a 12V battery and immerse the test rod before starting the test. Follow the operation instructions for handling the heated sample.

Supported Brake Fluid Types
Operating selections: DOT3, DOT4 and DOT5.1. Match the mode to the fluid and procedure before heating the sample.

Use Normal Mode when you want to select the brake fluid type directly, such as DOT3, DOT4 or DOT5.1.
Brand Mode
Use Brand Mode when testing by built-in brand reference. Select the brand and corresponding brake fluid type before testing.

Brand Mode covers ATE, TRW, BOSCH, MOBIL, TOTAL, FUCHS, MOTUL, DELPHI, KUNLUN, FERODO, BREMBO, TEXTAR, MONARCH, and CHANGCHENG.
Use 12V Battery Power
Clamp the tester to a 12V vehicle battery. The working voltage is 12V, with a minimum of 10V. Do not reverse the positive and negative clamps or short-circuit with the vehicle.
Use Enough Brake Fluid
Fill the beaker with more than 40ml and not more than 50ml of brake fluid. Do not test without enough fluid, because empty boiling may damage the test stick.

Wear goggles and avoid splashing brake fluid into your eyes. Follow the brake fluid manufacturer’s safety data sheet and the vehicle service manual.
Avoid Burns After Testing
The test stick and fluid become hot after the boiling point test. Do not touch them directly after testing.
Do Not Reuse Tested Fluid
Do not pour tested brake fluid back into the reservoir. The fluid structure has been changed by boiling, and reuse may affect driving safety.
Brake Fluid Only
AS506 is designed for brake fluid detection. Do not use it for other liquids or non-automotive purposes.
Clean After Testing
After the brake fluid test, empty the brake fluid and fill about 50ml of water to test and clean residual brake fluid from the test stick.

If the tester is not used for a long time, detect with water so residual corrosive brake fluid can be removed from the test stick, then let the heating stick dry at room temperature.
Quick Calibration Check
Fill the beaker with water and check whether the boiling point reads around 100°C / 212°F ±3%. For stricter calibration, return the unit to the factory for retesting and calibration.
Use the Sample Result
Use the specified sample volume and supported fluid mode, then clean the heated probe as directed. Compare the measured sample result with the applicable service criteria.

How Much Brake Fluid Should I Use For One Test?
Use the injection sampler to fill the beaker with brake fluid above the 40ml scale and not more than 50ml. Do not test with insufficient liquid, because empty boiling may damage the test stick.
What Power Supply Does AS506 Need?
- Use 12V vehicle battery power.
- The working voltage is 12V and the minimum voltage is 10V.
- Connect the red clamp to battery positive and the black clamp to battery negative.
- Use AS506 only with the supported 12 V power connection.
How Long Does One Detection Take?
After selecting the correct mode and brake fluid type, press and hold the S button for about 16 seconds. Wait for the progress bar to complete, then read the test result on the OLED screen.
Can I Pour Tested Brake Fluid Back Into The Reservoir?
No. Do not pour the tested brake fluid back into the brake fluid reservoir. The sample has been boiled and its structure has changed, which may affect driving safety.
How Should I Clean Or Maintain The Test Stick?
After testing, empty the brake fluid and fill about 50ml of water to clean residual brake fluid from the test stick. If the tester will not be used for a long time, use water to dilute and remove residual brake fluid, then let the heating stick dry at room temperature.
How Can I Check Whether AS506 Needs Calibration?
Fill the beaker with water and test whether the boiling point reads around 100°C / 212°F ±3%. This is only a quick initial diagnosis. If stricter standards are required, the unit must be returned to the factory for retesting and calibration.
How Is AS506 Different From AS501, AS502, AS503, AS505, And AS507?
