How to Use
Plan the Entry, Insert, Steer, Record, Center, and Withdraw
Define The Inspection Target
Identify the vehicle, symptom, entry point and surface you need to see. Confirm that the SVB208 probe and viewing range suit that path.
Check The Equipment
Inspect the tip and cable, charge the device, check steering and lighting, and verify that photos or video can be saved.
Prepare The Vehicle
Follow the vehicle service procedure to isolate moving and live parts, cool the inspection area and prepare a clean access point.
Guide And Illuminate
Insert gently while watching the live image. Use the steering control and lighting to bring the target into the specified clear viewing range; never force a bend.
Record The Findings
Capture the target from useful angles and identify the component, entry point and viewing direction. Keep uncertain observations separate from confirmed conclusions.
Withdraw And Store
Return the tip as instructed, withdraw gently and check that the probe is intact. Clean, dry and store it according to the model manual, then review the files with the vehicle diagnostic evidence.
Safety & Compatibility
Cool the Area and Confirm Probe, Liquid, and Access Limits
Match The Access Path
Match the complete probe tip and bend path to the narrowest opening and available turning space.
Inspect A Cooled, Isolated Vehicle
Prevent unintended engine movement and electrical operation. Wait for components to cool to the limits in the SVB208 manual before inserting the probe; a heat alarm is a protection event, not a working-temperature rating.
Protect The Probe And Main Unit
IP67 applies to the specified probe, not the screen or handle. Confirm permitted liquids and contact conditions separately; do not infer oil, fuel or solvent compatibility from the IP rating.
Withdraw Without Force
Use the steering control to return the tip to a position that can clear the entry path. Stop if resistance is felt; follow the model manual and vehicle procedure rather than pulling harder.
Keep The Inspection Evidence
Record the entry point, component, viewing direction and any areas you could not inspect. Use the vehicle procedure and supporting tests before making a repair decision.
Inspection Results
Read Images with Location and Supporting Tests
Record the Visible Condition
Record the location and visible deposits, marks, liquid, or foreign material, then compare the image with the applicable service information.
Recheck Focus, Light And Direction
If the image is unclear, adjust target distance and brightness, clean the lens as instructed and compare another viewing angle. A reflection or shadow can resemble a defect.
Save the Inspection View
Save the original image or video with the component and viewing direction, and inspect additional angles where coverage is incomplete.
Choose The Next Test
Use OEM reference images and the applicable diagnostic procedure. Compression, leak-down, other measurements or disassembly may still be required when the picture is inconclusive.

Probe, Steering, and Recording Questions
What Is The Difference Between SVB208 And Four-Way Articulating Borescopes?
SVB208 focuses on 210° two-way steering with a 6.25mm slim probe, 4.3-inch IPS screen, built-in 32GB storage, and magnetic design. Four-way articulating models such as SVB303, SVB308, SVB405, and SVB408 provide 360° four-way movement for more complex inspection angles.
What Is The Difference Between SVB403, SVB405, And SVB408?
- SVB403 has a 210° two-way steering angle, while SVB405 and SVB408 offer 360° four-way rotation for improved maneuverability.
- SVB403 includes two lenses, a front lens and a side lens, while SVB405 and SVB408 each have one lens.
- SVB405 has a 2MP camera, while SVB403 and SVB408 have 1MP cameras.
- SVB403 has a 4.3-inch screen, while SVB405 and SVB408 come with 4.5-inch screens.
- The bending radius also differs: SVB403 is 35mm, SVB408 is 37mm, and SVB405 is 47mm.
What Is The Difference Between SVB305 And SVB308?
- SVB305: 210° two-way, 5.05 mm lens, eight languages (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, and Japanese), and 2000 mAh.
- SVB308: 360° four-way, 6.2 mm lens, those eight languages plus Traditional Chinese and Korean, 2600 mAh, magnetic base, and detachable body.
What Is The Difference Between SVB302 And SVB303?
- SVB302 has a 210° two-way steering angle, while SVB303 supports 360° four-way rotation for greater control and visibility.
- SVB302 has a 6.45mm lens, while SVB303 is slightly slimmer at 6.2mm.
- SVB302 focuses from 30–100mm, while SVB303 focuses from 20–100mm.
- SVB302 supports seven languages including English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese.
- SVB303 supports these plus Traditional Chinese, Russian, and Korean, for a total of ten languages.
- SVB303 also adds a magnetic base and detachable design.
Can SVB208 Be Used On A Hot Engine?
No. Use SVB208 below 75°C. After the engine stops, temperature may reach 80°C to 100°C or higher. Wait about 1–2 hours until the engine cools down before inspection.
- Cool the vehicle and target area before insertion. Use the camera only within its stated -10°C to 50°C operating range; the 85°C protection value is an alarm or shutdown threshold, not a continuous-use rating.
Why Is The 85°C Alarm Not The Recommended Working Temperature?
The 85°C alarm is an over-temperature warning and protection reminder. It is not the recommended working temperature. For safer inspection and longer camera life, use the borescope below 75°C and wait for hot engine components to cool first.
What Happens If The Camera Is Damaged By High Temperature?
High-temperature camera damage is considered abnormal damage. If the camera is damaged by using it above the recommended temperature range, free warranty will not be provided.
- Stop the inspection when the temperature warning appears, withdraw the probe without force after returning the tip toward neutral, and let it cool. The 85°C threshold is protective, not permission to keep inspecting. Heat damage and warranty handling depend on the cause and current regional terms; contact support with the model, serial number and evidence.
Is The SVB208 Probe Waterproof?
The SVB208 probe is IP67 waterproof and dustproof. However, the device should still be kept clean, and users should avoid prolonged exposure to water, oil, corrosive liquids, and direct sunlight.
- IP67 is stated for the camera probe, not the display, handle or connected device. Keep the main unit dry, and confirm the permitted liquid, contact time and cleaning method; IP67 alone does not establish oil, fuel, coolant or solvent compatibility.
Does SVB208 Have A Magnetic Base?
Yes. SVB208 has a magnetic design that helps place the unit during inspection. This can support more convenient viewing and operation in suitable workshop conditions.
How Should I Protect The Articulating Cable?
Do not operate the dial while coiling the flexible hose, because this may break or deform the articulating pull wire. Keep the borescope clean and avoid prolonged sunlight exposure or direct contact with water, oil, and corrosive liquids.
Can a picture confirm the cause of an engine fault?
Use the image to document the inspected location and compare visible conditions with the vehicle procedure, reference images, and any required supporting tests.
What should I check before choosing this probe?
Confirm the entry diameter, tip and cable path, turning space, target distance, temperature, likely liquid contact and whether you need front or side views. For connected models, also confirm your device, cable and software.
